Born in da’ Bronx, NY, to Armond Palatucci and Eleanor (nee Cunnion) Palatucci, both natives of said ‘burra', John Francis Xavier was the last charge of six to them in this order: Armand "Ted" Theodore, Richard "Richie" Louis, Jean "Jeanne" Marie, Mary "Chrissy" Christine, Joseph "Joe" Mark. He was later baptized, regenerated, and made an adopted child of God the Father, at St. Philp Neri Church on the Grand Concourse by his uncle of fond memory, the Rev. Theodore Jean "Uncle Ted" Cunnion, SJ.
The Palatucci tribe packed their belongings and moved from Mosholu Parkway in the Bedford Park section that ‘burra’ to New Rochelle (correctly pronounced 'nurashell'), where John Francs Xavier was raised and attended his schooling in the New Rochelle public school system.
After traveling to-and-fro' between the East Coast and the West Coast for a dozen years or so, John F. X. began discerning a call to the priesthood and entered formation with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1996.
Upon completion of the necessary credits in philosophy, Mr. Palatucci returned to New York in September 2000 for his priestly formation with the Archdiocese of New York where he began his theological studies at Dunwoodie, St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers, NY, for the said archdiocese.
Ordained May 15, 2004, Rev. Palatucci has since served as parochial vicar in the Bronx, Staten Island, and Rockland County, NY.
His current assignment as pastor of this parish began when Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, named him administrator of it in September 2017. The following year, His Eminence decided that Palatucci might be a good fit as pastor. So, in September 2018, Rev. Fr. John F. X. Palatucci was named to that role, a position he has held ever since.
