By prayerfully responding to God’s love and call, Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion and Lectors are a visible sign of faith, hope and love to all parishioners. Our parish is always actively seeking to help parishioners responding to God's call to serve during the Holy Mass. If you are interested in serving in the capacity of Lector or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, please read the guidelines below, and then complete and submit the form that follows.

Becoming a Lector
Qualifications to serve as a Lector The General Instruction of the Roman Missal states that lectors should be “truly suited to carrying out this function,” and that they should be "carefully prepared” (GIRM, 101). In the Archdiocese of New York, in order for an individual to be regarded as “truly suited” for this role, it is required that the lector be:
At least 14 years old.
A Catholic who has received First Holy Communion and Confirmation, as well as one who leads a life of faith in keeping with the function to be assumed.
Free from any canonical penalty legitimately imposed or declared.
Reverential, respectful of his/her faith, and of good moral character.
Possessed of the necessary ability and talents to proclaim the Word of God in a clear, dignified, and effective manner.
If married, be in a valid marriage according to the law of the Catholic Church.
Becoming an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
Guidelines to be selected to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion includes:
You are at least 18 years old.
You must be a Catholic who has received First Communion and Confirmation and who leads a life of faith in keeping with the function to be assumed.
Must not be bound by any canonical penalty legitimately imposed or declared.
Be reverential, respectful of his or her faith and the Blessed Sacrament, and of good moral character.
If married, must be in a valid marriage according to the law of the Catholic Church.
